I built a tennis ball launcher using the Spudtech sprinkler valve that is modified with the pushbutton actuator.
One day I was testing it and it was sitting on the sidewalk fully loaded and charged to 60 psi. I accidentally kicked the button and sent the tennis ball into a steel trash can. Luckily it wasn't pointed at the cars that were sitting in the nearby parking lot. I cut off a plastic pop bottle screw off top and attached it around the button with some epoxy, being careful to not get any epoxy on the button. Now the button cannot be accidentally activated by a blunt object, like my foot. The lid can also be screwed on for more security.

I like your modification to the push button !!!

I use the pushbutton but I have it on the end of a hose instead of the top of the valve.

I am going to order a valve with the button on top and I will add your safety cover.
